We are so proud to announce we are officially Climate Neutral Certified, for the second year in a row. We have spent months working with Climate Neutral to measure our annual carbon footprint. We calculated all of the emissions that it takes to make and ship our products to your doorstep, and compensated all 469 tonnes of carbon by investing in climate change solutions. This year we supported the India Gujarat State Wind Farm and Evergreen REDD+ Forest Protection projects.

India Gujarat State Wind Farm

Generating wind energy in a country whose grid is dominated by fossil fuels.
The main purpose of this project is to generate clean forms of electricity through renewable wind energy sources. The project involves the installation of a 100-megawatt wind farm in the state of Gujarat, India. Over the first ten years of its crediting period, the project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gasses (estimated to be approximately 172,333 tCO2e per year), thereon displacing 183,960 megawatt-hours/year of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the Indian grid—itself dominated by thermal and fossil fuel-based power plants.

In addition to expanding renewable wind energy production, this project offers myriad co-benefits, from local job creation to the assurance of higher quality air for those living within the Gujarat region, thanks to the prevention of environmental pollution from oil, gas, and coal-generated electricity.

Evergreen REDD+ Forest Protection

Protecting 130,554 hectares of forest area from deforestation in Brazil.
This project preserves 130,554.81 hectares of forest in Apuí, Amazonas. As the municipality with the tenth highest deforestation rate in Brazil, it's considered a priority area for forest conservation worldwide.

The project's landowner is bolstering surveillance of the project area, abandoning planned deforestation activities, and implementing policies that provide climate, community, and biodiversity benefits.

Given the deforestation pressures and financial difficulties related to sustainable economic activities in the area, this project prevents probable climate-harming scenarios from coming to pass—notably the sale of farmland to private investors for conversion to pastureland. This, in turn, avoids potential deforestation beyond the Brazilian Forest Code limits and the sale of illegal timber, as well as the implementation of unsustainable cattle ranching operations.

What else are we working on?

What We’re Reducing: Operational waste
How We'll Reduce It: Eliminate single use toner cartridges by replacing office printers with Epson EcoTank printers.

What We’re Reducing: Raw materials
How We'll Reduce It: Reduce operational waste from our digitally printed wallcovering launches by implementing minimum production runs on new patterns, after which additional lots will be made to order based on demand.

What We’re Reducing: Packaging
How We'll Reduce It: We plan to reduce emission created by the use of plastics and single use paper in our packaging system.

What We’re Reducing: Raw materials
How We'll Reduce It: We plan to reduce the amount of plastics used in our commercial wallcoverings.
